Welcome Message

Dear Colleagues and friends,

Welcome to SIONCON 2025: The 3rd Annual Conference & CME of the Society of Intraoperative Neurophysiology

We are delighted to invite you to SIONCON 2025, the 3rd Annual Conference & CME of the Society of Intraoperative Neurophysiology, organized by the Department of Neurosurgery, in collaboration with the Departments of Neuroanesthesiology, Neurophysiology, and Clinical Psychology. This prestigious event will take place from November 14-16, 2025, at the NIMHANS Convention Hall, in the vibrant city of Bengaluru, India.

SIONCON 2025 brings together experts and practitioners from diverse fields, including neurosurgery, neurophysiology, neuroanesthesia, neurology, and psychology, to explore the latest advancements in intraoperative neuromonitoring. The conference aims to foster interdisciplinary collaboration, share cutting-edge research, and enhance clinical practices in this critical area of healthcare.

We have planned an exceptional scientific program featuring world-renowned speakers, symposia, orations, debates, and hands-on workshops. This dynamic program will cover a range of innovative topics, including:

  • *Brain connectivity and stimulation protocols
  • *Cranial nerve monitoring and motor response advancements
  • *Spine and Spinal cord monitoring techniques
  • *Evidence-based practices in Intraoperative Neuromonitoring (IONM)
  • *Brain modulation and its role in functional Neurosurgery
  • *Team communication and coordination in the operating room.
  •

A key focus of the conference will be the role of intraoperative neuromonitoring in the safe resection of brain tumors and spinal lesions. By providing real-time feedback during surgery, IONM helps to ensure critical neural structures are protected, minimizing the risk of postoperative neurological deficits and enhancing surgical outcomes. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with experts and contribute to discussions on these cutting-edge developments, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience that is both informative and thought-provoking.

We are proud to host SIONCON 2025 at NIMHANS (National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences), a global leader in neurosciences and mental health. NIMHANS is renowned for its state-of-the-art infrastructure, world-class research facilities, and highly skilled healthcare professionals, making it the ideal setting for this conference.

While in Bengaluru for SIONCON 2025, take the opportunity to discover the many facets of this dynamic city. Known as the “Silicon Valley of India”, Bengaluru is famous for its thriving tech industry, rich cultural heritage, delicious cuisine, and vibrant atmosphere. Visitors can explore historic landmarks, lush parks, bustling markets, and enjoy a perfect blend of traditional and contemporary attractions.

SIONCON 2025 promises to be an unforgettable experience, offering a platform to connect with experts, discover the latest advancements in intraoperative neurophysiology, and enjoy the cultural richness of Bengaluru.

Message from President of SION

The Society of Intraoperative Neurophysiology (SION) is a unique blend of healthcare professionals of varied disciplines, that evolved solely out of patient care needs. The society represents the integrative nature of medical practice in its purest essence, where the labels are synthetic but the unification is organic. In continuation of our efforts to safeguard the highest standard of practices of Intraoperative Neurophysiology, the 3rd Annual Conference and CME of the society (SIONCON-2025) will be held in Bengaluru from 14th – 16th November, 2025 at NIMHANS. NIMHANS itself represents amalgamation of varied disciplines of medical sciences mental health with research coalesced within patient care.

The organization of SIONCON 2025 is being led by team of Neurosurgeons, Neuroanesthetists Neurophysiologists, Psychologists, and Technologists under the leadership of Prof.A.R.Praburaj and assistance of the office bearer of the society.

The conference is envisaged as gathering of experts, novices and curious onlookers who shall bring in their choices of ingredients and recipes for a delicious and sumptuous intellectual feast. It will be an opportunity to learn basics from the best, become aware of the current and changing practices, a forum to share challenges and different view-points, most of all a place to agree and disagree as we walk together. The topics shall cover all aspects of Intraoperative Neurophysiology from advanced theoretical to mundane practical, from neurosurgical to neurophysiological technology, signal processing to signal interpretation, neurology to psychology and from microseconds to millivolts.

On behalf of the office bearers of the society, I implore all of you to join us, be with us as we mature the practice of Intraoperative Neurophysiology in out country and become the flag bearer of model that can be emulated in rest of the world.
